Sales is a head game, so you have to be in control of your thoughts and your attitude. Especially in this market. If you don't have one, develop a written business plan. This starts with determining how much money you want to make in a given time period. Then, you must determine how many contacts you need to make in order to get the number of appointments you need in order to get the number of listings and buyer agreements you need in order to have the number of closings you need in order to make your number....If you do not do this, you will have a haphazard, inconsistent year. It all boils down to your database. Add to it every day and touch it regularly and often. Lead generate! That's what we are-lead generators, rainmakers.
A question was asked: "What is freedom?" One definition is "a complete lack of anxiety." What does that mean to you? Now, this is not all about money. It includes all facets of your life: mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, family, business, and financial. What money does do for us is create opportunities and provide freedom. That can be whatever you want it to be.
In our business Freedom is the true "F" word. The door of opportunity is there for us, we can choose our time or be a slave to it. Are you truly free with a flexible schedule? Not if you're attached to your blackberry or cell phone. If you have a family, order your priorities. You may be working to make ends meet, but in the process are you missing time with the family. It's all about balance.
Here's some thoughts:
1) Your positive attitude will create breakthroughs in your life.
2) You can change your life by telling yourself, "I can" and "I will!"
3) Every day, when you first wake up, say to yourself, "I am the best at what I do! I am a positive influence in the lives of others! I study and know my market! I am a great salesperson!" Positive affirmations daily make for a positive attitude daily.
4) Every day, say to yourself, "I will always be guided to do and say the things that will contribute to my success. Anything that happens then, happens in my best interest."
5) To stay in business in a shifting market, you must be tough-minded. Tough-minded begins with knowing what to do. Knowing what to do begins with having a well thought-out plan.
6) Get help if you need it. We at Keller Williams are a family, and there are resources available to help you in your business!
7) Remember: No one succeeds alone, and no one fails alone. Together, everyone achieves more.
8) Henry Ford said, "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, working together is results."
9) Floyd Wickman, renowned former real estate agent, speaker and trainer, "Great results are the sum of small things done well repeatedly...It takes no more pain to succeed than it does to fail. Choose success!"
10) Find your passion. Stay the course. Achieve mastery. Love the process!

Great post Josh, I am so happy that I joined Keller Williams. It has been a breath of fresh air as compaired to the stuffy old line companies that I could otherwise have gone too.
