Duncan Creek and the Mill Creek Cluster have quickly come on the scene as one of the "go-to" schools. Mentioned along the same breaths as Brookwood, Parkview and Peachtree Ridge, the Mill Creek Cluster is one of the top schools.
Ask anyone in Hamilton Mill and they'll tell you why the schools are so good... because they built them. Not with their actual labor but donations, time and parental involvement. Some would say that the schools should be named after the neighborhood.
Well, now Gwinnett County, known for great schools in spite of the board, wants to split up a good thing. With the new redistricting plans, they are proposing that a neighborhood, founded on community, should be split up into different districts. That makes perfect sense. Let's spend extra tax dollars to have two busses go into the same neighborhood and take neighboring children to two different school, brilliant.
The new proposed redistricting plan would send some of the children from Hamilton Mill to the new Pucketts Mill Elementary school and keep the rest at Duncan's creek. As if we didn't need more problem in Real Estate, this will cause a shift in the immediate future of values in the Hamilton Mill subdivision should this be a permanent change.
