Question: Do you put your business card in with your Christmas Card?

There's two easy sides to this story, either you do or you don't.  You may think it's cheesy or agressive or flat out tacky.  You might think that it's just a friendly reminder that you are in fact, still in business. Christmas is a time when we all have to check the things we do, and frankly, we may have a bit more time as Realtors to analyze the situation. Do we send presents to good clients, do we worry about offending someone with the appropriate holiday greeting (just for the record, it's Merry Christmas from me), do we send cards at all?

So my question to you is, Do you put your business cards in with your Christmas Cards?

I generally do not put a business card in with the card.

But I will send a gorgeous refrigerator calendar, enhanced with my kindly smiling visage, and full contact information in case someone sees the former as a failing...

Not this year, but I sent out a wall calender separately. I have in the past, before I sent out calenders, the time also known as BC.....

I don't. The season's cards I send are to a very select group of individuals who I do business with often like my support network (lenders, agents, inspectors, etc.) and my past clients wha already have all my contact information. Eventhough the card is ONE MORE way to connect with the client and put your name on the forefront of the mind, the more sincere the card and holiday wishes, the more likely they are to do business with you because you gave them an honest moment as a human being, not as a shameless promoter.

Mike - As always, sage advice. Matthew - LOL, I'm not sure what your post is about but I thought the BC was funny. D'Artagnon - Excellent post, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the post.

No business cards from us just a nice holiday card with signatures.

I write a personal note on my cards and NO business card.  There are many other times of the year to send out cards and other items. I don't think this is one of them.

Joshua, I do not put my business card in with my Christmas's cards.  Generally I have our Logo and Company name somewhere on the card and we usually send out calenders about a week later that also has all our info on it.

I put my business card in with my Christmas card.  It is another way to market ourselves as word of mouth is so important.  As a Williamsburg Va real estate agent I find that competition is tough and many agents have branded themselves very well and have much money for marketing.  I am a new agent and any way I can inexpensively get my name out there more and make my clients/friends think of referring me business is fantastic.  It's a great life!

I put my business card in with my Christmas cards - double-sided tape and put on the side opposite the greeting.  I send my holiday cards to previous and current clients.  I include the business card mostly for my contact information, as the card just has my name and company name on it.  Someone may be thinking of utilizing my services after the holidays, and I think it helps keep me in mind.

Absolutely at some point the card ends up in the trash!

Yes and No. Depends who I'm sending the card too!!! Funny huh?

No, I am sending holiday wishes to my clients and I think a business card insertion detracts from that.  Of course, you can order cards with a commercial message Karen  www.e-virginiarealestate.com

I put it in with potential clients that I haven't seen or heard from in a long time, because I have changed brokers this year.

Joshua - I work on the 33 touch system that we have all learned about through Keller Williams.  Due to the fact that I do "touch" all the folks in my database so often . . .there is no way I would consider putting a business card in with my Christmas and holiday cards.

What are you going to do?

Have a great week!!!

I put my business card in the Christmas card with a hand written note. I give my business card to practically everyone I come in contact with. I met an agent who told me he hands out about 25 cards a day. Wow.
