I recently blogged about accountability and I am about to put myself to the test! After working with Twitter for some time now and reading a very interesting article about a Luxury real estate agent, I got the smart idea to blog my week. To see if I am active as I say I am. We'll see. It sounds good to say you called 200 people, but where'd the other few hours go?
So my plan is blog in detail what I am doing when I am doing it on Active Rain and post occasional updates on Twitter/Facebook and LinkedIn. I have a few goals in doing this:
- To hold myself accountable
- To keep myself on task
- To increase my exposure
- To increase the number of "touches" with my SPHERE.
I would do this strictly on Twitter but I found myself annoyed when one particular user did something similiar. Really, I don't care if you are watching TV if you posted a status update 5 min ago.
- Day One - Goals, Calls and Catching Up!
- Day Two - Getting Out there and rolling with Life!
- Day Three - Life Happens! Lead Generation is Still Most important activity
- Day Four - Did someone say networking!?
- Day Five- Sometimes Life happens more than once a week

Keeping yourself focused on your goals and honest to yourself is great
Once you see it in writing, I think you will be surprised. Writing it all down really makes you AWARE of what you SHOULD be doing-cuz you have to write it down!
Joshua....Twitter still seems to be unknown in the ATL area....yes you get the personal comments..but if you are getting to know the people that follow you, it's interesting. And you can ignore what you want. I'm taking a webinar about it all now and it's starting to make real sense!
The every 5 minute tweets are annoying for sure! I think that what you're doing here is great for motivating yourself, and perhaps others, to get moving in the right direction...and hey, getting points for it is a great motivator to keep it up as well.
I find myself on AR quite a bit. Lots of great stuff to read. Try subscribing to some of the blogs and bookmark some as a reference. I learned far more than I thought I would in a very short time.
Joshua: This is a great idea... I am watching you closely as i may chose to do something similar in the next few days. Thanks for the idea!
Joshua,
EXCELLENT POST!!!! If that doesn't keep you focused I don't know what will. Congrats on your success. Way to go!
