Chronicles of Accountability: Day One

If you're a friend on Facebook then you know I have a little bit of a cold.  I'm not really sure why it's the worst in the mornings and nights but it is.  So instead of posting at 5AM EST and letting everyone know I'm off to work out to keep my girlish figure, I'm here at 6:39 AM EST checking my e-mail and trying to do a few things to get a head start.

6:39 AM EST Checking E-mail, Posting On Active Rain - 166 New Messages.

7:04 AM EST - Cleared out the e-mail. Mostly just assigned the internet leads to myself to follow up with.  Got sidetracked on the Shift Tour then downloaded more business building tools and hints.  Only $6K off where I was last year, which was my best year ever, so I'm happy and disapointed at the same time.

Goals for the week.

  • 150 Calls or 25 Connections with New People
  • 5 New Mets
  • 5 Listing or Buyer Appointments
  • At least one contract

7:07 AM EST - Prepping for listing appointment later today.   Wondering why our MLS is not compatible with anything other than IE.

7:43 AM EST
-  Listings are all good till at least 2009.  I had at least one showing that I know of over the weekend.  Woot!
-  Got side tracked on wondering why my blackberry needs to be constantly reset if I don't turn it on. Found a great forum post about lithium ion batteries.
- Doing CMA for appointment.  Didn't think I would complete it but what the heck.  Being sick is clouding my thoughts.

Some Goals for the week

  • Cut budget another $100 a month to afford RedX
  • Call my SOI again.
  • Get the SOI letters out
  • Mass E-mailing about $7,500 credit
  • Schedule 1 on 1's with at least 3 members of networking group
  • Get new contract all cleaned up and ready to turn in.
  • Promote websites through blogging
  • More to come.

8:18 AM
- Yikes! In Taylor Elementary school in Lawrenceville, GA, there are 112 Active Homes for sale!
- Tax records are not helping in this analysis.  So many of the properties are sold back in Spring.  Wondering if I should account for depreciation?
- CMA finally done.
- Time for breakfast - gotta get ready.

9:00 AM EST - Let the calls commence.

9:41 - Feedback on showing was great on this lawrenceville home!  Had to call the seller.

10:00 AM - 13 Calls in, 1 Connection - Will be buying in Summer 2009.

10:33 AM EST - 26 Calls, 1 Connection, 1 "1 on 1" scheduled. Total.

11:03 AM EST -  37 Calls, 2 Connections (Summer 09 Buyer, another one) 2 People that said, "we'll call you."
- Took some dayquil.

11:20 AM EST - 9 More Calls No new connections.

11:45 AM EST - Confirmed appointment, ready files, getting directions.

Spent rest of the day in appointments - but here goes:

11:45 AM to 1:00 PM - Headed to Lunch with new "Met"

- Called 3 SOI people while on the way.

1:00 to 2:30PM - Lunch with the most networked HR Recruiter in Atlanta, Jenny

2:30 to 3:15 - En Route to BNI Roundtable Meeting.  Had a conversation with SOI and 1031 Exchanges.  Big Plans!

3:15 to 4:30 PM - BNI Roundtable - Goals Setting for our chapter.  Great ideas.  Using money as a motivator, now there's a novel idea.

4:30 PM - Meet with member of concierge team to put an ozonator in a listing.

5:00 PM - Listing Appoinment

6:00 PM - Asked to stay for tea.  Chai tea, homemade! Yum!

7:00 PM - Ozonator installed in home

7:30 PM - Home!

Missed one listing opportunity via e-mail due to battery failure.   Possible referral opportunity for Rancho Cucumuna?

Thoughts

It's unrealistic to think I could do this for more than a week or two maximum.  Tweeting the updates makes sense but I don't want to spam people either.  It's good, but today was too easy, I knew what I had to do today.  It'll be interesting to see if on Wednesday when Life interferes with my schedule if I'm as focused.

Feedback?

JJ,

Only $6K off from last year is truly amazing for a market like this!

Scott - Thanks for the comment.  I'm shooting for the moon over hear and as hokey as it sounds.  I'm on point because of the support I'm getting from my Keller Williams family and from the real estate "friends" I've made on sites like this one.

A friend of mine wanted to be an agent and asked if she could follow me for a day.  I told her to meet me at my computer at 6 AM and she replied that she thought agents didn't start work until 9-10.

She did not go into real estate!

Joshua, in think your accountability blog is a fresh and innovative way to hold yourself accountable...genius.  I am a KW agent in Las Vegas and have to admit that this is a great way to ensure that the KW principles are applied everyday.
