I'm teaching a class on Thursday and one of the number one questions I get is WHY BLOG and how much business do you get from it, so I created a survey to find out.
CLICK HERE FOR THE SURVEY - THANKS IN ADVANCE
**UPDATE** So far some great responses! Here's a some tidbits:
- Blogging is for Branding not lead generation.
- Blogging is for fun
- Blogging is for SEO
Most agents report less than 5% of their income coming from blogging. As in directly attributing blogging as the source of business.

Hi Joshua, Funny you should ask that question, not to jump in on your post or anything but I posted one today on this subject, there is a link to a very interesting article on it and you might find it helpful in your class.
It can be helpful for people to see that you are active on the net daily and working real estate. (unless you let it blog you down.)
You got my survey in . Good luck with your seminar I am sure it will be very good and important
Good luck on your class tonight, IMO:if you blog for fun first income will come, but if you blog for income, my bet is it will not come. Mostly because it will be impersonal, just another commercial.
I will look forward to reading the results of your survey...and it will be interesting to see how the numbers change in the years to come.
I didn't fill out your survey because I can't put a percentage on business from blogging. Probably 75% of customers/clients nowadays mention our WEBSITE, and I know that blogging has gotten our website higher on Google, and so has gotten more traffic to it. But I have not gotten any business, that I know of, directly freom my blog.
Alison Scott (Vista Tour) - Great post on your blog. Thanks for filling out the survey... I can only assume.
Heath Coker, Broker Owner (Cape Group Real Estate & REindex.com) - Very Funny!
Charlie Ragonesi Big Canoe homes, Jasper ,Ball Ground,Benttree,Dahlonega (All Mountain Realty) - Thanks for the survey!
Mary Strang, Viroqua, WI Real Estate (RE/MAX Hill Country) - Blogging for income is one thing, blogging for prospects or to meet clients needs which turns into income is another.
Jean Groesbeck - Jean Groesbeck & Assoc. REALTOR, Assoc. Broker, e-PRO, ABR, ASP (Windermere Real Estate/Anacortes Properties) - Very interesting answers so far...
Leslie Prest, Prest Realty, Payson, AZ - Very interesting comment. It's anonomous and several already checked "Less than 5%" Please fill out the survey, don't let that stop you.
I am new to it but I got a referral to list 2 homes from an AR member today so thats pretty huge. Can you put a price on networking? I can see the traffic coming in to my website from my blogs and my website is ranking much higher from my blogging. Isnt that what we want? How do you price that?
I finished the survey, interested in the outcome. Keep us posted!
Interesting. I've never thought of my blogging as "costing" me. I learn so much from other's AR's attitudes and wisdom.
Ahhhh SurveyMonkey. Great tool to do surveys with Joshua.
I'm very curious to see the results of your survey...will you be sharing them with us?
I look forward to posting the responses. It's all anonymous, so unless you put your name in the comment section, then I don't know who said what. We've already collected some great responses.
